Terms of use

Msika Plus connects people who need something with people who sell it. We are not the seller. The buyer and the seller make the deal, and the seller is responsible for the goods: that they are as described, and that they arrive as agreed.

• You must be 18 or over to use Msika Plus.
• Use your real name and a phone number you answer. Keep your password to yourself.
• One account can buy and sell. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
• You can delete your account at any time — see how to delete your account.

• Post real requests for things you intend to buy.
• Offer only what you can supply, at the price and time you state.
• Do not accept an offer you do not intend to honour.
• Do not sell or ask for anything illegal in Malawi, stolen, fake, or dangerous.
• No scams, no harassment, and no pretending to be someone else.

Phone numbers and email addresses typed into requests and messages are removed automatically. Contact details are shared once the buyer shortlists an offer. Negotiating and paying through Msika Plus is what makes ratings, payment protection and dispute help work — a deal taken elsewhere has none of them.

A buyer can pay in one of two ways, chosen when they accept an offer:

• Cash, paid to the seller directly. Msika Plus does not handle the money.
• Through Msika Plus, when the seller accepts it. Payment is taken by Paychangu and held until the order is done. When the seller marks the order delivered, the buyer has 7 days to confirm it arrived or to say something is wrong. If the buyer does neither, the money is released to the seller.

Money held for a seller is paid out to their mobile money or bank account after a Msika Plus admin checks and approves the payout.

If you paid through Msika Plus and the order is not right, open a dispute from the order before the money is released. The money stays frozen while our team looks at what both sides say and send. We then decide: the money goes to the seller, or back to the buyer.

For a cash deal we cannot move money, but tell us through Support. We can act against an account that is not trading fairly.

Posting requests and sending offers is free, and we take no commission on sales. If we introduce fees, we will tell you clearly before they apply.

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you let Msika Plus show it on the website and in the app so the market can work. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share. We may remove a request, offer or message that breaks these rules.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules, puts other people at risk, or is used for fraud. If money is held for an order when that happens, we settle it fairly between the buyer and the seller.

We work to keep Msika Plus running and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Because we are not the seller, we are not responsible for the goods themselves, except where the law says otherwise. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Malawian law.
